Top 100 baby boy names for 2007

The Social Security Administration's office have recently published the list of top 100 baby boy names for 2007, and it seems that the trend of using quirky, strange names with odd spellings have gone away and have been replaced with names that have biblical origins. The top 100 baby boy names list ranks the name Jacob as 1st, setting the overall tone for the entire list.

It would seem that names with biblical origins are starting to gain more popularity, and while the reason for this is unclear or hard to define, it is by no means a surprise since biblical names have already showed up in the previous years' lists but they only gained a noticeable dominance in the 2007 top 100 baby boy names list, with the top spot consisting of 1 normal name and 4 names that have biblical origins. The names in question are Jacob (1), Michael (2), Joshua (3), and Matthew (5). If you think that's where it ends, you will be proven wrong since number 6 is Daniel, 11 is Joseph, 13 is David, 15 is Noah and 20 is John. The top 100 baby boy names list goes on and on and is replete with names with biblical origins.

Based on the results of the top 100 baby boy names list on the previous year and how the biblical names seem to gain ranks consistently, it has been assumed that the next year's list will still be dominated by the bible's army of names.

I found a great site that has a ton of baby names along with a baby name generator. It's great for coming up with some neat ideas for names.

Some names I like include Natasha, Jazlyn and Amelia for girls and Adler and Nathaniel for boys.
